From today's Tennessean: "One of the coolest events ever to happen in Nashville is Wednesday's Nashville Sings Woody Guthrie celebration at Ryman Auditorium. It is a part of a longer celebration of the great fellow who was sort of the Hank Williams of folk music. Or was it country music he sang?
"You be the judge at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Artists scheduled to perform include Arlo Guthrie (Woody's son, of course), Nanci Griffith, Marty Stuart, Janis Ian, Guy Clark, Gillian Welch & David Rawlings, Beth Nielsen Chapman, Ramblin' Jack Elliott, Peter Rowan & Tim O'Brien, Corey Harris, Alison Brown, Cathy Fink & Marcy Marxer, Sarah Lee Guthrie & Johnny Irion, Rob Wasserman & DJ Logic, Ellis Paul, Slaid Cleaves, Jimmy LaFave & Eliza Gilkyson, James Talley, Rob Ickes & Tim Stafford, Wenzel and Blackfire."
What a line-up!! What a concept!! Oh yes, I bought my tickets a long time ago. When Feb. 5 seemed very far away ...
